Did you miss an episode of your favorite show?

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

The 451 Press network has built quite a solid foundation of TV sites for you to take enjoy. These sites are great if you want to keep up with the latest scandals surrounding your show (see: Grey’s Anatomy), the latest gossip surrounding the players on a show (see: Teri Hatcher), or maybe you are patiently waiting for the next episode and are curious what to expect (see: Lost). Most importantly, if you miss an episode of your favorite show, our writers are here to give you a recap so that you can catch the next week’s showing and feel like you didn’t miss a thing. Here are some great examples of recaps from shows airing this week:

Episode 5 of 24

Memphis auditions of American Idol

“Godsend” - the returning episode from Heroes

Remember - If you don’t see a show you like represented in our network, visit the apply page and send us your application. You could be featured on the next 451 Press update.

Articles of Note Around the Network

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

As we near the home stretch of our comment contest here at 451 Press, we thought it might be a good time to spotlight some of the comment-worthy articles our writers have written this month.

Erinn at Parenting Our Children asks her readers to share how they told their partner that they were expecting. Did you share your news in a unique way?

Jose at All PVR opens up discussion about TiVo adding ads to the fast-forward function on their machines. Do you have a TiVo? What do you think about this?

Jamie at Fiction Scribe gives you words of encouragement if you’re experiencing doubt about your writing purpose. Do you get discouraged? What re-energizes your writing?

Noel from Mobility Watch tells us what we can expect from the Google and Samsung joint venture in mobile phones. Is this a product you’re looking forward to?

And finally, Neelima gives kids (and many adults) everywhere cause to rejoice when she brings up the possibility that playing video games can be a fitness regiment if you choose the right games.

Explore these articles and many more around our network. Come back tomorrow we’ll discuss which of the TV sites around the network have articles you need to read as many of the shows gear back up after the holiday hiatus.

451 Press Contests around the Network

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

This is just a reminder of the various contests we have going on around 451 Press. There is the general comment contest going on at all sites across the network. Comment on any site within the network during the month of January and be entered in for a drawing for one of six prizes: (1) $500 prize and (5) $100 prizes.

We also are celebrating the beginning of two of your favorite shows by having contests on both Watching24.com and our new American Idol site - WatchingAmericanIdol.com. Watching 24 had a contest yesterday giving away a copy of Season 5 of 24. This is an example of why you should check your favorite sites daily, you never know who is going to give away what while you’re gone.

Watching24.com is having also a Jack Bauer Kill Count Contest. 451 Press is going to give $500 to the person correctly guessing how many kills Jack Bauer will make this season. Meanwhile, WatchingAmericanIdol.com is having a contest giving away an iPod Nano to a lucky person who comments between now and February 1st. It will be given in another random drawing and every comment is an entry. (Quality comments only, please.) So, comment often!

451 Press Comment Contest

Monday, January 8th, 2007

wallet.jpgDid the holidays leave you a little light in the wallet? Are you strapped for cash after months of spending? Well - 451 Press is here to help. We are hosting a contest that could have you walking away with $500 in your pocket on February 1st.

451 Press Comment Contest
451 Press has launched several new sites recently and decided the best way to get people to check out the new writers is to host a comment contest. This will benefit all of the writers in our network, as well as the people who participate. We are calling out to anyone and everyone to stop by one of the sites on our network and leave a quality comment. Not a spam comment that simple gets you entered in the contest, but a comment that contributes to the conversation or adds commentary to the article. Every comment made on one of our sites between now and January 31st will be entered in a random drawing for prizes. Every comment you leave will be considered an entry, so there is no limit as long as you leave quality along with quantity.

We offer a wide variety of categories for you to view. We hope that there are several sites here that interest you. We also hope to launch 40 more before the end of the month, so check back regularly to find writers.

Note: Every site in our network is eligible for this contest except 451press.com.

Prizes:
We will award six prizes to the six randomly chosen comments from this month. There will be one (1) $500 cash prize and five (5) $100 cash prizes. We will contact the winning commenters using the email address they enter with the comment. Comments made through January 31st will be entered in the contest and the winners will be announced on February 1st.

451 Press writers are not eligible to win this contest.

Making the most of your game systems

Friday, January 5th, 2007

One of the hot topics after this holiday season has been video games. With the pre-holiday limited release of the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii, the post-holiday discussions have revolved mainly around those systems. BB at 1P Start has an entire category on his site dedicated to the Playstation 3. He has been using that category to keep his readers up to date on the frenzy surrounding Sony’s game system.

Tim from Wii Rally has an entire site dedicated to the discussion of the newest game system from Nintendo. He has covered game reviews and news blurbs related to the Wii.

451 Press is planning on launching several other gaming sites in the next few weeks to compliment the ones already in the network. If you need information about any of your systems, you will find quite a resource here at 451 Press. If you have any questions for our writers, feel free to use their “Contact Me” link on their own site or email editor@451press.com and your question will be directed to the proper writer.

Spotlight on TV

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

We at 451 Press have noticed that the watercooler conversations in the office tend to revolve around what was on television last night. This has prompted us to make sure we find high quality writers to represent our favorite television shows. The list of TV sites within our network is growing longer everyday and we hope you’ll find a few to represent your taste in television. We wanted to bring this list to your attention as most shows return from the holiday hiatus within the next week or so.
